Hermes

Commitment to Our Community

Inspired by the generosity shown after Hurricane Katrina in 2005, Hermes members quickly took action to help their community. Eventually, a charitable foundation was created in 2014. Since then, the Hermes Beyond the Parade Foundation, with support from the krewe’s more than 700 members, has become a key champion of local charities.

Recognizing a gap in support for the area’s first responders, the foundation committed itself to supporting police, firefighters, and EMS workers and finding solutions to violent crime.

In 2016, the New Orleans Police & Justice Foundation awarded the Hermes Beyond the Parade Foundation its Corporate Responsibility Award for “enlightened and strategic philanthropy that reflects the mission of the Foundation by advancing the New Orleans Police Department and improving the safety of our community.”
